Fred's Donation Story
October 9, 2002
The last thing filmmaker Fred Potts figured when he bought three raffle tickets for a chance at Tony Dow's original artwork (Wally from "Leave It To Beaver") was that he'd win.
"We came down from Anchorage, Alaska to take in Ray Courts' "Hollywood Collectors Show" one last time before our move next month to New Zealand. I wanted to show my support for A Minor Consideration, but this is ridiculous."
Fred went on to explain. "Kim and I have been struggling to cut down the things we are taking down to New Zealand…it's really expensive to ship things…and we've got it down to clothes and our bedroom set. Then I go and win this great painting by Tony Dow. I won't even be home to look at it!" Fred begins work on his film, "Karen" the week he arrives in New Zealand and already has his 2nd film, "Treatment" in pre-production.
Fred was notified of his win when he arrived home in Alaska on Monday the 7th of October, and he and Kim made a fast decision. "Kim and I really support the work that A Minor Consideration does, and I figured my Ten Dollar investment in the raffle wasn't enough, so I'm giving the painting back to Paul so he can sell it in my name and get more from Tony's great art work."
Fred and Kim Potts' generosity was gratefully accepted by A Minor Consideration. "We'll make sure Fred and Kim get the first signed lithograph when they're produced and he's all settled in New Zealand," said Paul Petersen, President and Founder of A Minor Consideration.
So now the original artwork produced by Tony Dow is now available for bids on Ebay, with proceeds to go to A Minor Consideration in the name of Fred and Kim Potts of New Zealand!
