SAG 1998 BOARD OF DIRECTORS LIST OF RECOMMENDED NOMINEES.

The members of A Minor Consideration most involved with the affairs of Screen Actors Guild met together and discussed the list of nominees seeking the vote  of the General Membership to represent their interests in Guild affairs.

There are several outstanding candidates, many of whom actively support our efforts to improve working conditions for children in the entertainment industry...in California and across the country where far too many jurisdictions have NO child labor laws for kid actors.  Beyond experience and commitment we at A Minor Consideration looked for the kind of passion necessary to advance our cause.

The Rules for children can and must be different.  Jurisdictional line-crossing for the purpose of exploiting children is a shameful practice and must end.  Stage Parents who give so much must be accorded a place at the table.  The kid who does the work should own the fruits of that labor.  Education must not be sacrificed for "entertainment work."  Publicly nearly all of the nominated candidates support the efforts we are making, but some actually do the hard work of carrying our position in the National Board room where decisions are made. Thus we have selected these men and women who are known to us as supporters of our advocacy, and have proved it in difficult circumstances.  A Minor Consideration recommends that our SAG members vote for the following who appear in alphabetical order:

RICK BARKER
ISABEL BONIFACE
RENEE AUBRY
ALAN BLUMENFELD
JOHN P. CONNOLLY
CYNTHIA DeCURE
MICHAEL P. BYRNE
BOB COURTS
DENA DIETRICH
LEV MAILER
DIANE McBAIN
CHUCK SLOAN
ARMIN SHIMERMAN
W.M. SUPERNOW
LYMAN WARD
MILLIE WRIGHT

We need strong voices on the Board of Directors.  If you are a SAG member, don't forget to Vote.  The "Children's Vote" can make the difference.

Paul Petersen,
President
A Minor Consideration
