The cruel article on Britney’s childhood appearing in US Magazine this week immediately brought to mind the 1st Jackie Cooper "rule" about dealing with child stars:
"First, tell me the composition of their family." (See Paragraph Four of "Anybody Out There? "
From early beauty pageants to being too young for the Mouseketeers, this girl named Britney has been living a lie, rented out for "entertainment" by her dysfunctional family and keeping secrets no one should have to keep.
These little White Lies, spun with such enthusiasm, were known to be false at the time they were issued. The Press knew. Insiders knew. The Family knew.
Upon whose shoulders should we place the blame?
"What a tangled web we weave……."
