Taken Too Soon. "Joey" Nagy Dies
by Fred T. Beeman
January 22, 2004
A Minor Consideration regrets to note the passing of actor Joseph Nagy, 34, due to complications from pneumonia, on January 13, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mr. Nagy (“Joey” to his fans, family and friends) was born April 1, 1969, and grew up in Woodland Hills, a Los Angeles County suburb.
Nagy portrayed Billy Crystal's son in the made-for-TV movie “Breaking Up is Hard to Do” (1979) and contributed a character voice for “Dennis the Menace in Mayday for Mother” (1981), an animated TV feature. Other credits include working with George Burns in, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (1978) and playing opposite Ricky Schroeder in another venture. And, according to childhood friend Marty Weiss, “Joey was a very active child who lived without fear. He practiced stunts during his childhood that few other kids would attempt.”
His all-too-brief adult life was spent primarily in Laughlin and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Our deepest condolences are extended to the loving family, friends and fans of this very charming and immensely talented performer.
